RoF emitter FTX-1

Category:

Description

Radio Transmitter over Simplex Fiber

The FTX-1 allows the conversion of UHF electrical signals into optical signals, offering the advantages of optical fiber transmission (low loss, wide bandwidth) as well as the inherent benefits of the medium itself (lightweight, galvanic isolation, etc.).

The FTX-1 has two operating modes:

  • High sensitivity, which enables the reception of UHF signals from wireless systems (analog or digital) in the 470-690MHz range. The signal is filtered and amplified before being sent to the RF/optical converter.
  • Low sensitivity, without filtering or amplification, to transmit signals from 0.1 to 3GHz. Three level settings 0/-10/-30dB allow the FTX-1 to adapt to the output level of the connected device. For example, with the -30dB setting, a 50mW transmitter can be directly connected to the FTX-1.

FTX-1 schematic

The FTX-1 can be configured to work with 50 or 75-ohm impedances (at order).

The FTX-1 is compatible with all BSRF Radio over Fiber receivers (AFR-250S, AFR-200, ACH-642, ACH-862, ACF802).

Its compact size allows it to be integrated into waterproof enclosures, cabinets.

Description

FRX-1 Simplex RoF receiver

The FRX-1 receiver allows the conversion of optical signals into UHF electrical signals, offering the advantages of optical fiber transmission (low loss, wide bandwidth) as well as the inherent benefits of the medium itself (lightweight, galvanic isolation, etc.).

The FRX-1 has two operating mode:

  • Amplified ouput, in this mode the received RF signal is 30dB amplified, which makes it possible to re-transmit UHF signals by connecting an antenna at the BNC.
  • Attenuated output, in this mode the received RF signal is attenuated by 0, 10 or 30dB. Used to receive low signal and adapt the strengh to the end device (wireless mic receiver, GPS receiver, spectrum analyzer…)

FRX-1 schematic

A RF peak LED indicates if RF stignal is too strong. A 1second push on the SW button will allows you to check the optical signal strength.

The FRX-1 can be DC powered through the DC-FEED on BNC connector.

The FRX-1 can be configured to work with 50 or 75-ohm impedances (at order).

The FRX-1 is compatible BSRF’s AFB-250.

Its compact size allows it to be integrated into waterproof enclosures, cabinets.
